Futuristic cycling bridge will change Stockport’s skyline
This is the first glimpse of the spectacular new walking and cycling bridge that will link Stockport’s train station with its new bus interchange and Mersey Square.
Spanning 100 metres and boasting an impressive futuristic arch, it will provide a striking new landmark close to the town’s historic viaduct.
The project which also includes the creation of a traffic free public square is part of a major transformation of Stockport’s transport hub approved by Councillors. There will also be new pedestrian and cycle crossings as well as secure cycle storage.
