Rex Cinema Wilmslow

Impey & Company are delighted to report on the ongoing success of the Rex Cinema, Wilmslow, which opened to the public in December 2018.

The Rex Cinema is  run by the Mundin family who have a successful track record in restoring former cinema premises and converting them into leisure anchors for the immediate area, with other premises at Heaton Moor, Belper and Melton Mowbray.  They have leased the former Multiyork premises in the Rex Buildings and following a substantial refurbishment programme, the cinema has quickly become a major attraction in Wilmslow.

Rex Buildings, which currently comprises ten retail and leisure premises along with first floor offices on Alderley Road is owned by WW Stansby & Sons Limited and is managed by Impey & Company.  Peter and Jonathan Stansby of WW Stansby & Sons commented “we are delighted that The Rex, which our family built and operated until 1995, has been resurrected by the Mundin family and is once again proving to be a popular destination for the people of Wilmslow and surrounding areas”.

Norman Benton of Impey & Company who has managed the  Rex Buildings since 2008  and completed the letting of the cinema commented “this popular heritage estate occupies a premier position in the town centre and is a first class location for leisure, retail and office businesses”.
